Great googly moogly: Chiefs’ Twitter diss goes viral, ends with apology
If you’re in charge of an organization’s Twitter account, three rules apply.
1) Make sure you’re not signed into your corporate account when tweeting about personal things.
2) Don’t tweet under the influence
3) Don’t tweet when you’re angry.
The Cincinnati Reds learned number three the hard way, and so have the Chiefs, according to KSHB. After a fan tweeted his opinions about the team’s underachieving following a blowout loss to the Falcons Sunday, the team tweeted thusly:
Oops. The curt direct message was shared on Reddit and blew up.
To the Chiefs’ credit, the team posted a public apology, which must have been agonizing for the team’s social media manager.
