6News Lawrence loses 2 fixtures
There have been some big at 6News Lawrence. Lead anchor Cory Smith and head meteorologist Matt Elwell have both left the station in recent weeks.
Smith, a Northwestern graduate, was a 6News intern in 2008, and returned to the station in 2010. He has returned to his home state of Texas, where he is now a reporter for the ABC affiliate in San Antonio, KSAT. Elwell left the station after six years for KXLF/KBZK in Bozeman, Mont. The KU grad and Leavenworth native began his career in Big Sky.
6News is run by cable provider Knology, which was sold to Colorado’s WOW! earlier this year. It is the only news station in the WOW! family.
