KC Press Club announces January program, focusing on statehouse issues

The Kansas City Press Club’s January program will focus on legislative issues in Topeka and Jefferson City. The program is set for Saturday, Jan. 21, from 2-4 at Trailside Center, 9901 Holmes, KCMO.

From open meeting violations to sealed police records, access to information is once again a hot topic in Missouri and Kansas. The Kansas City Press Club will host a panel discussion focusing on issues at the Missouri and Kansas statehouse levels on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2011, from 2-4 p.m.

Joining the Press Club will be Doug Anstaett, executive director of the Kansas Press Association, and Jean Maneke, legal counsel for the Missouri Press Association. They’ll be speaking about topics including changes to the Missouri Sunshine Law, the redistricting process in Missouri, and efforts to unseal probable cause affidavits in Kansas.
