The News-Press & Gazette Co., which owns the St. Joseph News-Press, will launch a new FOX network in the area, the paper reported yesterday. It will also broadcast Telemundo and CW in the St. Joe area.
Eric Bradley, newly appointed general manager for the local broadcast properties, said the goal is to build on the news offerings of the News-Press daily newspaper as well as its website and smart phone and tablet platforms.“This is going to add to that quiver of arrows,” he said. “This will provide a different option for local news. It will improve the media landscape in this area.”
Earlier this month, the company announced it was reacquiring local TV news station News-Press 3 NOW from Suddenlink Communications. That station will share resources with the new FOX affiliate, and will continue to broadcast 24-hour news, while providing more weekend news programming.
