Kurt Caywood, the Topeka Capital-Journal’s director of online revenue, has taken a position as vice president of audience development at Times-Union Media, which publishes the Florida Times-Union, Jacksonville.com and more, the C-J reports.
Caywood is the first audience development VP for Times-Union Media, which is owned by Morris Publishing Group, which also owns the C-J. Morris is adding audience development leaders in each of its markets. Caywood will help Times-Union Media to expand its reach through various media platforms.
Caywood started his career as a sportswriter at The Lawrence Journal-World in 1987 and spent the next 20 years in various newsroom positions. In 2007, he was named director of audience development at The Capital-Journal, one of the first people to hold that position in Morris Publishing Group, parent company of T-U Media and the Topeka property. He has spent the past three years in advertising management.
