Former Star reporter Russ Pulley has joined the Lee’s Summit Journal as a city reporter, the paper wrote today.
Pulley began his career at the Oak Grove Banner in the 80s, but “the paper struffled [ed note: struggled?] and Pulley found himself back making dentures, but refused to give up on journalism.” He eventually moved to The Star, working weekends before moving to a suburban bureau. He was laid off in 2009.
“Russ Pulley’s background in journalism only further expands our depth as a news-gathering organization,” Journal publisher John Beaudoin said. “His knowledge of Lee’s Summit gives him instant credibility and I am thrilled he has decided to return to journalism to join our team.”
