Join the Kansas City Press Club and legendary sportscasters Jack Harry and Frank Boal at Westport Flea Market Bar & Grill, 817 Westport Rd., on Thursday, Sept. 27, for an evening of dinner, sports talk and fun. Jack and Frank will share stories and talk about what’s new in the industry at 7 p.m. at the Westport Flea Market Bar & Grill, 817 Westport Rd., Kansas City, Mo. The program is free and open to media professionals.
The Press Club has reserved a private room for hungry journalists. Join Press Club members at 6 p.m. for dinner and a social hour before the presentation by Frank and Jack. Meals can be ordered off the menu.
Jack Harry has covered sports in the area for more than 40 years. Jack joined NBC Action News in June of 2002 and was named sports director shortly thereafter. As sports director, Jack covers sports for the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts on NBC Action News. Jack has been recognized for decades of covering sports. He was named as the Joe McGuff Journalist of the Year and received the 2009 Diversity Advocate in Sports from the Olathe chapter of the NAACP.
Frank Boal has been an icon in the KC area for more than 30 years. Frank currently appears on NBC Action News after nearly three decades as the sports director for Fox 4, from 1981 through 2009.
Frank appears on 810 WHB regularly, whether just “stopping in” as a guest, covering the Chiefs on location, or out and about at a remote. He’s covered every major sporting event, including the Royals’ 1985 World Series championship, MLB All-Star games; the Chiefs; KU, Mizzou and K-State; local pro golfer Tom Watson and even the old Kansas City Kings.
