A storm’s abrewin’, but it’s more bluster from area meteorologists than anything.
The trash talk is sure to grow after KCTV deposed KSHB as Kansas City’s most accurate forecast, according to WeatheRate, an organization that measures the reliability of local forecasts. KSHB had won the honor for the last nine years.
The Star reports KCTV’s chief meteorologist Chrish Suchan, who came to the station in 2011, replacing Katie Horner, wanted to improve the station’s WeatherRate…rating.
As for sour grapes, KSHB’s Gary Lezak told The Star area viewers shouldn’t count Channel 41 out.
“If you go over the last 10 years, we won nine Super Bowls and (KCTV) won one. And so we’ll work hard every single day at bringing that Super Bowl trophy back to ‘41 Action News’ in the next year.”
