Joel Nichols, longtime KMBC meteorologist, is out

Joel Nichols, who predicted weather at KBMC for 25 years, has left the station, the Pitch reported.

Bottomline Communications reports KMBC wanted to move Nichols to the night shift, a move he resisted.

The Star elaborates:

Though Nichols was offered a new contract, the source said, it called for him to leave his customary morning broadcast in favor of KMBC’s early-evening newscasts, where he would work alongside chief meteorologist Bryan Busby.

Bottomline also writes meteorologist Lisa Teachman’s contract wasn’t renewed.

Well sure was sad to see Joel and Lisa leave. Sure it had something to do with the prom queen Erin Little. I watched channel nine for over fifty years. Can’t stand Erin Little

    Former channel Nine viewer.
