The station announced today anchor Mark Clegg is departing Kansas City to take a job doing PR for a Houston real estate development firm, Hines.
“It took a remarkable opportunity to get me to leave the anchor desk and Kansas City. Joining Hines allows me to take my media skills in a whole new direction. It’s also a great opportunity to be closer to family in Texas. But I will sincerely miss my Kansas City family – both at 41 Action News and our viewers, whose trust and friendship I have cherished for these past 12 years,” said Clegg, a Texan who joined KSHB in 2002.
His last broadcast will be July 23.
The Star has more on Clegg’s departure.
Meteorologist Michelle Apon, who joined the station last year from Oklahoma, is also leaving, according to kcradio.tripod.com.
She’ll join her fiance, KMBC executive producer Derek Schnell, in Sacramento.
