  • Reporter Stephanie Ramos joins KMBC from WIBW in Topeka. Ramos is a captain the U.S. Army Reserve.
  • KMBC also hired Haley Harrison from NewsChannel 8 and WLJA in Washington D.C. Previously she was worked at WHSV in Harrisonburg, W. Va. Prior to that she was a reporter and anchor for 6News in Lawrence.
  • KMBC also welcomes anchor Len Jennings, coming to KC from WBBH in Fort Myers, Fla.
  • Shawnee Dispatch editor and former Star reporter Sara Shepherd was announced as the new features writer for the Lawrence Journal-World.

  • Former Star crime reporter James Hart is now managing editor of Think Bigger Business Media in Overland Park.
  • Lawrence Journal-World features reporter Sarah Henning left to take a marketing job in Overland Park.
  • 6News Lawrence producer Lindsey Diepenbrock left to take a job as outreach coordinator with Lawrence Habitat for Humanity.
